Senior discounts are everywhere, but two things make them hard to use: most aren’t posted at the register, and many quietly vary from one location to the next. This list fixes the first problem and is honest about the second — every deal is sourced, and we label the company-wide programs separately from the ones that depend on your local store.
1. Always ask. Most senior prices aren’t advertised — say your age or show your AARP card before you pay. 2. Carry ID. A photo ID (and an AARP card if you have one) is all most places need. 3. Call ahead on “varies” deals. For restaurants, groceries, and thrift stores, confirm the offer and the day with your local store first.
