We built Retirement In Order to be safe by design — for your family and for your data. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have. No legalese.

What we collect

Only what we actually need

Your email — only if you ask for it. If you sign up for the free starter kit or our newsletter, we store the email address you give us so we can send it and the occasional helpful note. That's the only personal detail this site asks you for.
Anonymous usage data. Like most sites, we use Google Analytics to see which pages and resources people find useful — things like page views, rough location, and device type. It's aggregated and not tied to your name.
What we never collect here. We don't ask for payment details, account numbers, or passwords on this website — this site has no checkout on it.
When you buy from our store. Checkout happens at shop.retirementinorder.com, which runs on Shopify. Shopify processes the payment and we never see your card number. We do receive your name, email, and — for a printed book — the shipping address, because we need them to send you what you bought. For paperbacks that address is passed to our print partner, who prints and ships the order. We use it for that, and for nothing else.

How we use it

To send what you asked for — and to improve

We use your email to deliver the free kit and send occasional updates you can opt out of at any time. We use the anonymous analytics to understand which guides help most, so we can make better ones. That's it.

We never sell or rent your information — to anyone, for any reason.

Who we work with

The services behind the scenes

A few trusted services help us run the site. Each has its own privacy policy:

Google Analytics — anonymous, aggregated traffic measurement.
Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — stores newsletter and free-kit email addresses and sends our emails.
Shopify — runs our store and processes every payment; your card details go to them, never to us.
Lulu — our print partner; receives the shipping address on paperback orders so they can print and mail your book.
Amazon — some links in our gift guides are affiliate links; anything you buy there happens under Amazon's own policy.

Cookies. We use a small number of cookies for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — the site still works without them.

Your choices

You're in control

Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Ask us to delete your data. Email us and we'll remove your address from our list.
Not for children. This site and our products are meant for adults and aren't directed at children under 16.
